CONFIRMING THE ASSESSMENT ROLL OF PROPERTY WITHIN THE BOUNDARIES
OF WHATCOM COUNTY ROAD IMPROVEMENT DISTRICT NO. 1 (BIRCH BAY
LIGHTING DISTRICT) AND REMANDING ROLL TO THE COUNTY TREASURER
FOR COLLECTION
WHEREAS, on tdovember 21. 1%R5 , the Whatcom County Council held
a public hearing in the Whatcom County Courthouse, Bellingham, Washington, on
the reassessment of properties within the boundaries of Whatcom County Road
Improvement District No. 1 (Birch Bay Lighting District) in accordance with and
as provided for in RCW 36.88.U90; and,
WHEREAS, the Whatcom County Council did determine that the proposed
assessment roll is equitable and just under the conditions prevailing;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the assessment roll for Whatcom
County Road Improvement District No. 1 shall be and is hereby set aside and a
re- assessment of all property within the said District is hereby ordered
and set as follows:
The first annual maintenance assessment shall be based upon a Whatcom
County Department of Public Works fee of $0.5U per account per year and the rat
of $0.26 per lineal front foot, or a $S.UO minimum charge.
The second and each succeeding annual maintenance assessment shall be
based upon a Whatcom County Department of Public Works fee of $U. 50 per account)
per year and the actual cost of maintenance and power charges of Puget Sound
Power and Light Company, not to exceed $0.30 per lineal front foot, or a $S.UU
minimum charge. Prior to the second and each succeeding annual maintenance
assessment, a budget for Whatcom County Road Improvement District No. 1 shall b
submitted to the Whatcom County Executive for approval.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Whatcom County Council hereby certified
the reassessment roll and remands the same to the Treasurer for collection.
