RESOLUTION N0. 85 -53
A RESOLUTION DECLARING OCTOBER 30, 1985
'NOCHE MEXICANA'
WHEREAS, a disastrous earthquake hit the City of Mexico on
September 19, 1985, resulting in an extensive loss of life and
property, and
WHEREAS, many citizens of our community have friends and rela-
tives who have suffered loss in the disaster, and
WHEREAS, Whatcom County has many cultural and friendly ties with
the people of Mexico,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the evening of October
30, 1985 shall be designated as 'NOCHE MEXICANA' and the citizens
of our community are encouraged to participate in the program at
the Mt. Baker Theater that evening to raise funds for earthquake
relief.
