RESOLUTION NO. 85 -32

A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING APPLICATION
6 FOR FUNDING ASSISTANCE FOR AN AQUATIC
LAND ENHANCEMENT ACCOUNT PROJECT TO
7 THE DEPARTMENT OF NATURAL RESOURCES.

9 WHEREAS, under the provisions of RCW 79.24.580, state
10 funding assistance has been authorized and made available to aid
11 in financing the cost of land and the construction of facilities
12 for public access to, and aquatic land enhancement of, state -owned
13 aquatic lands; and
14 WHEREAS, the County Council of Whatcom County considers
15 it in the best public interest to develop a picnic shelter located
16 at Semiahmoo Park; and
17 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Council of Whatcom
18 County, Washington:
19 1. That the park director be authorized to make
20 formal application to the Department of
21 Natural Resources;
22 2. That any fund assistance so received'be used
23 in the development of a picnic shelter on
24 the Spit within Semiahmoo Park.
25 3. That the County's share for the project will
26 be derived from donations and gifts;
27 4. That any property acquired with financial
28 aid through the Aquatic Land Enhancement
29 Account be placed in use in accordance with
30 the terms of the financial aid approved by
31 the Department of Natural Resources;
