RESOLUTION NO. 85-22
A RESOLUTION AMENDING WATER DISTRICT NO. 4
TO BE CHANGED FROM "WHATCOM COUNTY WATER
DISTRICT NO. 4" TO "POINT ROBERTS WATER
DISTRICT NO. 4 ".
WHEREAS, on the 14th day of September, 1956, the Whatcom
County Commissioners adopted some Findings and Resolutions
creating Whatcom County Water District No. 4 and fixing its
name; and,
WHEREAS, since that time there has been some confusion
by the customers when trying to contact the Water District
for emergencies, as well as day -to -day business, because the
customers think of the District as "Point Roberts Water District
No. 411, rather than "Whatcom County Water District No. 4 "; and,
WHEREAS, when working with Canada on past and present
projects and day -to -day business, there is always the confusion
that the parties are dealing with Whatcom County even after
explanations that they are dealing with the Point Roberts Water
District; and,
WHEREAS, there have been other water districts which
have changed their names and it helps to clarify the past confusion;
and,
WHEREAS, the Whatcom County Council presently feels
that it is appropriate to change the name of "Whatcom County
Water District No. 4" to "Point Roberts Water District No. 4"
in order to clarify the situation;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Findings and
Resolution adopted on the 14th day of September, 1956 shall
be amended as follows:

RESOLVED FURTHER that the name of the said Water
District is hereby fixed as "WHATGE)M- GE)UNT F- WATER- B -IsTR -IGT
NO -r -4" POINT ROBERTS WATER DISTRICT NO. 4.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that in all other respects
the Resolution adopted on the 14th day of September, 1956
shall remain in full force and effect.
