5 A RESOLUTION TO SELL REAL PROPERTY
ACQUIRED BY COUNTY ON TAX FORECLOSURE

7 WHEREAS, RCW 84.64 .270 allows the County to sell real
8 property acquired by tax foreclosure where it is found to be in
9 the best interests of the County to sell the same; and,
10 WHEREAS, Whatcom County has obtained title to a lot
11 located at Sudden Valley, Division 6, Lot 140; and,
12 WHEREAS, the Whatcom County Council deems it in the best
13 interests of the County to sell this lot; and,
14 WHEREAS, Whatcom County Code as well as State law
15 RCW 84.64.270 allows the County to reserve from the sale coal, oil,
16 gas, gravel, minerals, ores, fossils, timber or other resources
17 unless the Council finds that it is in the best interest to
18 transfer these; and,
19 WHEREAS, the Whatcom County Council deems it in the best
20 interests of the County not to reserve these mineral rights, but
21 rather to transfer them with the sale; and,
22 WHEREAS, RCW 84.64 requires the Council to establish the
23 minimum price for each unit, the Council therefore established
24 the price for this lot at $950.00 plus costs;
25 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that it is in the best
26 interests of the County to sell Sudden Valley, Division 6, Lot 140
27 for $950.00 plus costs and in this sale transferring to the
28 owner all coal, oil, gas, gravel, minerals, ores, fossils, timber
29 or other resources on or in said lands and the right to mine
30 for and remove the same;
31 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Whatcom County Treasurer
32 is hereby directed to sell such property at not less than the

price set; said sale shall take place in accordance with the
duties as established in RCW 84.64.270.
