HomeMy WebLinkAboutres1985-0071 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 INTRODUCED BY Hawley PROPOSED BY Hawley DATE 2 -7 -85 RESOLUTION NO. 85 -7 A RESOLUTION AMENDING RESOLUTION 85 -2 REQUIRING A $5,000 BOND FOR THE COMMANDANT, COMMANDER, ADJUTANT, QUARTERMASTER OR SERVICE OFFICER OF SERVICE ORGANIZATION IN CONJUNCTION WITH THE VETERANS RELIEF FUND. WHEREAS, on January 3, 1985, the Whatcom County Council adoptE a resolution establishing a requirement of posting a bond for the administration of said funds, and WHEREAS, the Whatcom County Council failed to name all of the heads of the different organizations which exist in Whatcom County, causing concern that they would not be able to post a bond, and i6 WHEREAS, it was the intention of the Whatcom County Council tc 17 incorporate all service organizations which are duly chartered to 18 be able to administer those funds, and 19 WHEREAS, the Whatcom County Council finds it advisable to amen 20 Resolution 85 -2 so that the question is clarified, and 21 WHEREAS, the Whatcom County Council still deems it necessary 22 to have the $5,000 bond posted by any person who is authorized to 23 administer these funds, 24 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT Resolution 85 -2 shall 25 remain in full force and effect unless it is specifically amended. 26 by this resolution. 27 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED THAT the Whatcom County Council shall 28 require the.posting of a $5,000 bond before the Commandant, Comman- 29 der, Adjutant, Quartermaster or Service Officer of any service 30 organization shall be authorized to disburse funds from the 31 Soldiers and Sailors Relief Fund. 32 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED THAT a copy of this bond shall be on Resolution - 1. 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 28 29 30 31 32 file with the County Auditor's office prior to authorization to withdraw funds.
