HomeMy WebLinkAboutres1986-0261 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 28 29 30 31 32 DATE ,_i�_Rq INTRODUCED BY Roehl PROPOSED BY County Executive RESOLUTION NO. 86 -26 A RESOLUTION ESTABLISHING PROCEDURES FOR HANDLING LEAVE DUE TO EMERGENCIES WHEREAS, extreme weather conditions or other emergency occasionally interupts the normal course of business of the County, by making it difficult, dangerous, or impossible for some or most employees to report for work; and WHEREAS, no procedure to deal with absences due to such emergencies presently exists; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: 1. That absence from work due to an employee's inability to report for scheduled work because of severe inclement weather, conditions caused by severe inclement weather or other unusual emergency con- ditions shall be charged to the following in the order listed: a. Any earned compensatory time; b. Any accrued vacation leave, c. Accrued sick leave up to a maximum of three days in any calendar year; d. Leave without pay. 2. Although the types of paid leave shall be used in the alphabetical order listed in paragraph (1) above, and each type of paid time off shall be exhausted before the next (in alphabetical order) is used, employees shall be permitted to use leave without pay rather than paid time off at their request. 3. Tardiness due to an employee's inability to report for scheduled work because of severe inclement weather, conditions caused by severe inclement weather, or other emergency will be allowed up to one hour at the beginning of the work day. Tardiness in excess of one hour shall be charged as provided in (1) above. PASSED this 15th day of MELY 1986.
