RESOLUTION NO. 86 -24
A RESOLUTION OF INTENT IN THE MATTER OF THE ABANDONMENT OF
A PORTION OF GALBRAITH LANE
WHEREAS, a new alignment has been established on a portion of
County Road No. 224, Galbraith Lane, and
WHEREAS, that portion of Galbraith Lane commencing 495.72 feet south
along the section line between Sections 15, 16, Township 37 North, Range 3 East,
W.M. to the southeast intersection of the as built Galbraith Lane of said
Township and Range has not been built in the location in which it was
established on June 13, 1892.
WHEREAS, the County has received Quit Claim Deeds for the new alignment
of Galbraith Lane, contingent upon Vacation of the old alignment, Galbraith
Lane.
WHEREAS, traffic is now traveling over the new alignment of Galbraith
Lane.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that it is the intention of this Council
to abandon the full width of that portion of County Road No. 224 (Galbraith
Lane), as originally established by resolution dated June 13, 1892.
A strip of land 40 feet in width, being 20 feet on each side of the
centerline described as follows:
Commencing at the section corners common to Sections 9, 10, 15 & 16,
Township 37 North, Range 3 East; thence South 01 051'26" West 495.78
feet along the section line between said Sections 15 and 16 to a point
described as: The centerline intersection of the existing travelled
way known as Galbraith Lane and the centerline description of County
Road No. 224 as established in Volume 4, Page 42 Whatcom County Road
Record and being the true point of beginning; thence South 01 °51'26"
West along said section line 282.22 feet; thence South 61 045' West
365 feet more or less to a point; thence South 69° West; thence North
85° West to the North line of Lake Samish, except that portion deeded
to Whatcom County under Auditor's File No. All situate
in Section 16, Township 37 North, Range 3 East of .M., Whatcom County,
Washington.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the County Engineer shall make a report of
this portion of road and shall file the same with this Council and proceedings
for abandonment of this portion of road shall then be carried on in the manner
provided in RCW 36.87.010 through .080.
