RESOLUTION NO. 85 -6
RESOLUTION ESTABLISHING THE TERMS
OF OFFICE FOR THE SEVERAL SPECIAL
DISTRICTS AS WELL AS ESTABLISHING
A BOND FOR THE OFFICE HOLDERS.
WHEREAS, the Whatcom County Council has been requested to
adjust the terms of the service for the position in the governing
body of said special districts such as the supervisors,
commissioners, and /or directors for all activated drainage
districts, drainage improvement districts, and consolidated
drainage improvement districts in Whatcom County; and
WHEREAS, the term is to be set for a staggered six -year
term, phasing out the position of Supervisor held by the County
Engineer as per RCW 85.08; and
WHEREAS, the Revised Code of Washington also requires the
Directors of the special service districts to enter into a
faithful performance bond in a minimum amount of $1,000 not to
exceed $5,000; and
WHEREAS, the Whatcom County Council has reviewed the
requirement for this bond and feels that the minimum $1,000 bond
would be appropriate;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the terms of the
following position shall be as follows:
