RESOLUTION NO. 86 -3
COMMENDING MARY KAY BECKER, WHATCOM
COUNTY COUNCILWOMAN AT LARGE.
WHEREAS; the Whatcom County Council, would like to think
ourselves as a family, and,
WHEREAS; each and every one of us as individuals with
our own thoughts to each and every issue, and,
WHEREAS; agreeing 92.333% of the time belies the notion
of disagreeing, and,
WHEREAS; you, Mary Kay Becker, Councilwoman at Large, has
contributed greatly to this family and for the well being of
the citizens of Whatcom County, and,
WHEREAS; your expertise and endless effort has made Whatcc
County a better place to live in, and,
WHEREAS; it was mentioned that you would not be your own
person due to appointment, and,
WHEREAS; you have demonstrated many times the opposite,
you are now honored with the Executive Shirley Van Zanten
"Appointment Award," and,
WHEREAS; you continue to have more children; you seem to
get more conservative, and,
WHEREAS; by the time you have had four children the
Republican Party won't even have anything to do with you, and,
WHEREAS; with the esteem you have shown, you are now
honored with the Tip O'Neil award on "Income Tax Reform"
and President Ronald Reagan's award with military uniforn,
and,
WHEREAS; you, Mary Kay Becker, Councilperson, have made
many sacrifices of yourself and family for the citizens'
well being of Whatcom County,
NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved that we sincerely thank
you for your worthy contribution to Whatcom County Government,
and,
FURTHER, may it be resolved, that we extend our love
and best wishes to you and your family for the future.
