RESOLUTION NO. 87 -28
A RESOLUTION REPEALING RESOLUTION NO. 80 -69
A RESOLUTION OF INTENT REGARDING URBAN
SERVICES WITHIN BELLINGHAM'S URBAN FRINGE
WHEREAS, Whatcom County is in the process of revising the Whatcom
County Comprehensive Sewer and Water Plan; and
WHEREAS, the question of provision of sewer and water services within
the suburban areas must be addressed prior to revision of the Comprehensive
Plan; and
WHEREAS, the Whatcom County Council is considering certain goals and
statements to provide general direction for making land use decisions which
include the goals of the provision of an adequate range of urban services, the
optimization of investment in existing public services and the cooperation among
the municipalities in the provision of public services;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. The Whatcom County Council hereby repeals Resolution No.
80 -69.
Section 2. The Whatcom County Council continues to express its
willingness to cooperate and negotiate with all cities, towns, federal and state
agencies, and other municipal corporations or political subdivisions or with any
person, firm or corporation for the purpose of providing sewer and water systems
within the unincorporated areas of Whatcom County, either direct or indirect
through contractual agreements and in accordance with RCW 36.94.190.
