RESOLUTION NO. 87 -12
RESOLUTION AMENDING
RESOLUTION 86 -45 REGARDING A CENTENNIAL
COMMITTEE FOR WHATCON COUNTY
WHEREAS, the Whatcom County Council provided for the establishmen
of a County Centennial Committee by passing Resolution 86 -45; and
WHEREAS, the Centennial Committee has been designated as th
official agency to receive County Centennial Planning monies fro
the Washington State Centennial Commission; and,
WHEREAS, the Council wishes to direct the Committee to provide fo
the development of celebration plans as part of an open publi
process, and to conduct its business in a fair and non - discrimi
natory manner, in compliance with all laws and regulations,
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that Resolution 86 -45 is hereb
amended and that the official county centennial committee shal
provide for an open, public, process, including an appeal
process, for the development of plans for the celebration of th
state centennial and shall comply with all local, state, an
federal civil rights and anti - discrimination laws and regulation
in the conduct of its business and activities;
AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the County Centennial Committe
submit to the County Council annually a program plan and budge
for the expenditure of funds used for centennial purposes.
