RESOLUTION NO. 87 -6
A RESOLUTION AMENDING RESOLUTION 86 -56,
A RESOLUTION ADOPTING THE 1987 ROAD '
CONSTRUCTION PROGRAM
WHEREAS, Provision (D) of Ordinance 86 -89 requires all
construction work in the road program to be bid out to private i
contractors if the estimated cost is over $25,000; and,
i
WHEREAS, the Massey Road Bridge Project, Item #1 on the One Year
Road Program, is estimated to exceed $25,000 in total cost; and,
WHEREAS, the Public Works Department wishes to do this project
utilizing day labor to allow it to fast -track the project for the
benefit of the agricultural community utilizing the bridge and as
a savings of taxpayer dollars;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that Resolution 86 -56 is amended to
read:

BE IT RESOLVED that the 1987 Whatcom County Road Construction
Program be and is hereby adopted as shown on the attachment
hereto.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that no changes be made in the program
without unanimous vote of the Whatcom County Council.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the annual Construction Program be
filed with the Director of Highways of the State of Washington.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that projects numbers 6, 7, 9, and 16 are
excepted from budget Proviso (D) requirements.
