RESOLUTION NO. #88 -59
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ISSUANCE OF
SOME REGISTERED WARRANTS BY DRAINAGE
DISTRICT NO. 3
WHEREAS, Drainage District No. 3 was in need for
emergency repair for the protection of property located within
the district; and
WHEREAS, this work had to be done with a fisheries
permit between the dates of August 1 to October 15th; and,
WHEREAS, the cost of the work exceeds the budget by
approximately $9,000.00 but that the work had to be done or risk
damages to private property far in excess of that amount; and,
WHEREAS, R.C.W. 85.38.160(6) allows the legislative
authority to authorize registered warrants to be issued to cover
this type of work; and
WHEREAS, Drainage District No. 3 did request the
legislative authority to authorize such imposition and
collection of the special assessment in accordance with R.C.W.
85.38.160(6); and,
WHEREAS, the Whatcom County legislative authority
does find that an emergency did exist and that this work had to
be done and needs to be paid through this process.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that:

Drainage District No. 3 be allowed to issue registered
warrants in sum of approximately $9,000, principle and interest;,to be
repaid from the new assessment rolls to be established in November or Decetnber
1988 in accordance with the district system of assessments as established in
conformance with RCW 85.38.160.(6).
