HomeMy WebLinkAboutres1988-055lakecomm.res INTRODUCED BY: PROPOSED BY: DATE: JOINT RESOLUTION Bellingham City Council No. 46 -88 Whatcom County Council No. 88 -55 IN THE MATTER OF ESTABLISHING AN INTERGOVERNMENTAL LAKE WHATCOM WATERSHED COMMITTEE WHEREAS, Bellingham City Council and Whatcom County Council have accepted the proposed Lake Whatcom Watershed Management Plan, prepared by the Lake Whatcom Watershed Advisory Committee; and WHEREAS, both governmental entities desire to preserve Lake Whatcom, which is a crucial watershed; and WHEREAS, there is a need for an intergovernmental committee to review the recommendations presented in the management plan, and to make recommendations as to what steps need to be taken to preserve the watershed, and recommend what management structure would be best suited for carrying out such tasks. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that a Lake Whatcom Watershed Committee is created to be an advisory committee consisting of three Bellingham City Council members, three Whatcom County Council members, one representative of Water District No. 10, and one representative of the Bellingham - Whatcom County Health District Board; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that as staff time is needed to support the activities of said committee, committee members will request the time or information from their respective governmental administrations, through accepted channels. APPROVED the 7th day of November, 1988 by the Bellingham City Council and the 3rd day of November, 1988 by the Whatcom County Council.
