RESOLUTION NO. 88 -40
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE COUNTY EXECUTIVE
TO ENTER INTO A CONTRACTUAL AGREEMENT WITH
ARCHITECTS WEST, CONSULTING ARCHITECTS AND
PLANNERS, TO PROVIDE PROFESSIONAL CONSULTING
SERVICES FOR PLANNING, DESIGN AND CONSTRUCTION
OF COUNTY SHERIFF'S DEPARTMENT OFFICES.
WHEREAS, in accordance with RCW Chapter 39.80, and Whatcom County Code
Chapter 3.08, the County advertised Request for Proposals (RFPs) and received
qualified proposals; and
WHEREAS, the County Executive approved the selection committee for
interview of the qualified candidates; and
WHEREAS, the selection committee recommended Architects West as the
firm that would provide the best end results for Whatcom County.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Whatcom County Council hereby
authorizes the County Executive to enter into a contractual agreement with
Architects West for the purpose of planning, design and construction of office
facilities for the Sheriff's Department in the basement of the Public Safety
Building.
IT IS FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council has determined that the basic
services associated with the planning, design and supervision of construction of
the new office facilities will not exceed nine percent (9 %) of the actual
construction cost.
