RESOLUTION NO. 88 -38
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASE OF
CERTAIN DESCRIBED REAL ESTATE FOR A PUBLIC
PURPOSE
WHEREAS, Whatcom County is interested in creating al
campus atmosphere between the present Buildings and Code
Building and the Courthouse and in order accomplish that
ownership of certain property more particularly described later;
in this Resolution will be required; and
WHEREAS, that property is needed for a public purpose!
in that Lottie Street could not be vacated until this land is'
owned by the County and that private access rights would bed
affected; and, i
WHEREAS, this action is being taken for the general.
benefit of the public and is being done in an effort to betters
utilize the Civic Center property that the County already!
possesses.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that:

Administrative Offices is a good concept and will be in thei

public's best interest. l
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that:
In order to accomplish that concept certain described
real estate more particularly described as follows:

The easterly 32 feet of Lots 21 and 22,
Block 13, Plat of Central Whatcom, Whatcom
County, W.T., now a part of the
consolidated City of Bellingham, Whatcom
County, Washington, as per the map
thereof, recorded in Vol. 1 of Plats, page
32, in the Auditor's Office of Whatcom
County, State of Washington.
Is necessary in order to accomplish that concept.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that:
The Whatcom County Council authorizes the Whatcom
County Administration to proceed with condemnation process
against that certain described real estate in an effort to
secure it for the public purposes which have been stated in this
Resolution.
