RESOLUTION NO. 88 -1
RESOLUTION OF APPRECIATION TO J.V. "JIM" HAWLEY JR.
FOR HIS SERVICE ON THE WHATCOM COUNTY COUNCIL
WHEREAS, J.V. "Jim" Hawley, Jr. has served honorably as'a
member of the Whatcom County Council, representing the Third
District, since November 19, 1980; and
WHEREAS, Jim has been a valuable member of Council
committees and has received numerous appointments to County
boards and commissions, and;
WHEREAS, of special note are his many years of service on
the Whatcom County Alcohol Administrative Board, and;
WHEREAS, Jim was appointed as the Council's representative
on the Solid Waste Advisory Committee, participated in the
development of the Solid Waste Management Plan, and has devoted
much of his time to the issue of the County's waste disposal
crisis; and
WHEREAS, Jim has maintained high standards of public
service, dedicating his time and energy to the concerns of
Whatcom County, and;
WHEREAS, Jim's knowledge about the community, his interest
in the affairs of the Council; and his diligence in representing
his constituents have been appreciated by the County Council and
the citizens of Whatcom County;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Whatcom County
Council commends J.V. "Jim" Hawley, Jr. for his service to the
citizens of Whatcom County and wishes him well in his future
endeavors.
