RESOLUTION NO. 89 -34
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE COUNTY
EXECUTIVE TO ENTER INTO AN AGREEMENT
FOR THE SALE OF COUNTY -OWNED PROPERTY
WHEREAS, the County is the owner of a certain.parcel of property
located adjacent to Whatcom County Park Department Rifle Range in the Lake
Samish area, more specifically described as follows:
Parcel No. 370314006067
TR 300 ft wide 200 ft long in SW SW Section 14 -SE
SE Section 15 lying easterly of PAR WI- contiguous
to line drawn 50 ft northwesterly of PAR WI C/L
Highway One Lake Samish vicinity - EXT FR Highway
Engineer's Station 823 +00 northwesterly to Highway
Engineer's Station 825 +00;
and
WHEREAS, Fire Protection District No. 9 has indicated their need for
said property for construction of a fire substa -tion; and
WHEREAS, the property is no longer in use or needed by the County.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Whatcom County Council does
hereby authorize the County Executive to enter into an agreement for sale of
said property as described herein to Fire Protection District No. 9 in lieu of
annual assessments for fire protection by Fire Protection District No. 9 as pro-
vided in the Intergovernmental Agreement for Fire Protection Services between
the Whatcom County Park and Recreation Board and Whatcom County Fire Protection
District No. 9 executed the 22nd day of July 1986.

INTERGOVERNMENTAL AGREEMENT
THIS AGREEMENT, made and entered into by and between WHATCOM COUNTY, a
municipal corporation hereafter referred to as the "County," and WHATCOM COUNTY
FIRE PROTECTION DISTRICT NO. 9, a municipal corporation hereafter referred to as
the "District," in accordance with the provisions of RCW 36.34.130.
WHEREAS, Whatcom County owns the property located adjacent to Whatcom
County Park Department Rifle Range in the Lake Samish area, more specifically
described as follows:

TR 300 ft wide 200 ft long in SW SW Section 14 -SE
SE Section 15 lying easterly of PAR WI- contiguous
to line drawn 50 ft northwesterly of PAR WI C/L
Highway One Lake Samish vicinity - EXT FR Highway
Engineer's Station 823 +00 northwesterly to Highway
Engineer's Station 825 +00;
and
WHEREAS, the District has requested to locate a fire substation on said
property for the protection of the surounding c,6unty areas; and
WHEREAS, RCW 36.34.130 authorizes the County to dispose of County pro-
perty to another governmental agency through lease or sale upon such terms as
may be agreed to and for consideration as may be deemed by the County as ade-
quate; and
