RESOLUTION NO. 89 -18
ACCEPTING A PETITION TO FORM WATER
DISTRICT NO. 18 IN ACME, AND SETTING A PUBLIC HEARING
IN THE MATTER OF THE DISTRICT'S FORMATION
WHEREAS, a petition has been received requesting the formation of a
water district in a tract of land consisting of a portion of'Townshlps 37 and
38 North, Range 5 East of W.M., Whatcom County; and
WHEREAS, said petition contains thirty -seven (37) signatures of
qualified electors residing within the proposed district, which is more than
25 percent of the registered electors residing in the area; and
WHEREAS, the County Auditor has certified that the petition is
sufficient, and recommends that the proposed new water district be numbered
Water District No. 18;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Whatcom County Council that a
public hearing will take place at a regularly - scheduled Council meeting, and
that notice of the hearing will be published once a week for at least two
weeks in one or more newspapers of general circulation in the proposed
district, in the manner set forth in RCW 57.04.030.
