Resolution to-allow the County to transfer ownership of an older model truck
currently being used by the Humane Society to the Humane Society for use in its
contract work with Whatcom County

SUMMARY STATEMENT.•
The Humane Society.is already using this vehicle for animal contr l purposes and
is interested in.purchasing it. We (the county)are interested in n9selling it to
them for their continued use in animal control.within Whatcom'County. This resolution
will accomplish that.

RESOLUTION NO. 90 -49
IN THE MATTER OF SURPLUSING A COUNTY -
OWNED VEHICLE USED FOR ANIMAL
CONTROL PURPOSES AND TRANSFERRING
TITLE TO THE HUMANE SOCIETY
WHEREAS, the current contract for animal control services between the
County and the Humane Society anticipates an end to the provision of a County -
owned vehicle for the Society effective June 30th, 1990; and
WHEREAS, the Humane Society has expressed an interest in purchasing the
County -owned vehicle they are currently using; and
WHEREAS, the County will benefit in continuity of animal control services
from the Society by selling the vehicle to the current user; and
WHEREAS, the Humane Society is acting as a County agent in carrying out
the required animal control services;
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED the Whatcom County Council hereby declares
that the ER &R Vehicle #114, a 1982 Chevrolet Pick Up Truck, is surplus and that
the Executive Office is authorized to negotiate a fair market value sale to the
Humane Society. The moneys received from the vehicle sale shall be credited to
the Equipment Rental and Revolving Fund.
