Resolution Public Hearing Needed? Yes No / _IXX SUMMARY STATEMENT.• This resolution sets the hearing on the proposed sale of County owned property, Request # 40. The property in question is Parcel #400321 - 129556, A tract of land located in Section 21, Township 40 North, Range 3 East of W.M.: Beginning on the Easterly line of Government Lot 1, Northerly line of County Road 28; thence Westerly along said road 100 feet; thence North parallel to the East line of said Government Lot 1 to the Southerly line of the Chicago Milwaukee St. Paul and Pacific Railroad right -of -way; thence Easterly on the Railroad said right -of -way line to the East line of said Government Lot 1; thence South to the point of beginning,. per CVL 44012 RECOMMENDED ACTION.• Recommend the Council approve the resolution and set the hearing. COMMITTEE ACTION (including dates): COUNCIL ACTION (including dates): 6 -12 -90 Passed Related File Numbers: Ordinance or Resolution Number: R90- 44 1 INTRODUCED BY: Consent 2 PROPOSED BY: TREASURER 3 DATE. 6 -12 -90 4 RESOLUTION NO. 90-44 5 HEARING AND NOTICE OF HEARING ON 6 SALE OF COUNTY OWNED PROPERTY 7 REQUEST NO. 40 s WHEREAS, the following described property is now, and has been the property 9 of the County of Whatcom, State of Washington since 1984; and 10 WHEREAS, the Whatcom County Council does deem it in the best interest of the 11 County and the people thereof that said property be sold; and, 12 WHEREAS, the Whatcom County Engineering, Public Works, Parks, Planning, and 13 Assessor Departments were contacted and expressed no interest in retaining this property 14 for County use; 15 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that it is in the best interest to sell 16 Parcel # 400321 - 129556, A tract of land located in Section 21, Township 40 North, 17 Range 3 East of W.M.: Beginning on the Easterly line of Government Lot 1, Northerly 18 line of County Road 28; thence Westerly along said road 100 feet; thence North parallel 19 to the East line of said Government Lot 1 to the Southerly line of the Chicago 20 Milwaukee St. Paul and Pacific Railroad right -of -way; thence Easterly on the Railroad 21 said right -of -way line to the East line of said Government Lot 1; thence South to the 2 point of beginning, per CVL 44012, for the minimum price of $12,500.00, plus costs, and 3 further in this sale transferring all mineral rights; and, 24 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that said price shall not be allowed under contract 25 and shall be paid in either cash, certified check, or money order to the Whatcom County 26 Treasurer at the time of sale; and, 27 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the Whatcom County Council, that public 28 hearing on the matter of the sale of said property, under said terms, be held on the 29 10th day of July , 1990, at 7 p.m., at the county 30 Courthouse , Whatcom County, Washington; and 31 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the Whatcom County Council 32 shall give Notice of such hearing in the manner prescribed by law under R.C.W. 33 36.34.030. 34 APPROVED this 12th day of June , 19 90 35 WHATCO COUNCIL 36 ATTEST: ATC O , WA SHINGTON 37 3 s amona Reeves, Council Clerk a ey, Chair an 39 APPROVED AS TO FORM: A 0 l/d 1 eputy Prosecuting Attorney 42 43 REQUEST NO. 40 PAGE NO. 1
