SUMMARY STATEMENT.•
Public Utility District #1 is designated by Whatcom County Council as the appropriate
authority and purveyor of water in the Kickerville Road area; and has requested to.buy
the County-owned water transmission line consisting of approximately 4,038 feet of 12"
line and appurtenances thereto on Kickerville Road between Aldergrove Road and
Grandview Roads. The negotiated price is $70,143.04. The County Council is asked to
declare the waterline surplus.�for the purpose of this transfer.
RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Approval by Whatcom County Council.

RESOLUTION IN THE MATTER OF SURPLUSING COUNTY -OWNED
WATER TRANSMISSION LINE AND THE APPURTENANCES THERETO
AND SELLING IT TO ANOTHER GOVERNMENTAL ENTITY PURSUANT
TO RCW 36.34.02
WHEREAS, Whatcom County owns approximately 4,038 feet of 12" water
transmission line and appurtenances thereto on Kickerville Road between Aldergrove
Road and Grandview Roads, and
WHEREAS, the Whatcom County Council has approved the Comprehensive Water
and Sewer Plan, and
WHEREAS, said Plan designates Public Utility District #1 as the primary purveyor,
and
WHEREAS, the PUD #1 has requested to purchase the County -owned water
transmission line in the amount of $70,143.04, and to assume and honor the terms and
conditions of the contracts with existing water services, and
WHEREAS, the County Council has determined that PUD #1 is the appropriate
authority and purveyor of water for this area,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the County -owned water
transmission line and appurtenances thereto shall be deemed surplus property, and the
County Executive shall be authorized to transfer said property to PUD #1 at a
negotiated price of $70,143.04.
