Water Transmission Line and Appurtenances Surplus Pursuant to RCW 39.33.020

SUMMARY STATEMENT
Whatcom County Comprehensive Water and Sewer Plan designates PUD #1 primary purveyor
in the area of Kickerville Road, and said District has requested to purchase the
County -owned water transmission line and appurtenances thereto located between Alder -
grove and Grandview Roads, at a price of $70,143.04. It is required first that the
waterline be declared surplus by the County Council.
RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Approval by the county council, setting a hearing date for declaring the line surplus.

RESOLUTION IN THE MATTER OF SETTING A DATE FOR PUBLIC
HEARING FOR DECLARING COUNTY -OWNED WATER TRANSMISSION
LINE AND THE APPURTENANCES THERETO SURPLUS PURSUANT TO
RCW 39.33.020
WHEREAS, Whatcom County owns approximately 4,038 feet of 12" water
transmission line and appurtenances thereto on Kickerville Road between Aldergrove
Road and Grandview Roads, and
WHEREAS, the Whatcom County Council has approved the Comprehensive Water
and Sewer Plan, and
WHEREAS, said Plan designates Public Utility District #I as the primary purveyor,
and
WHEREAS, the PUD #1 has requested to purchase the County -owned water
transmission line in the amount of $70,143.04, and to assume and honor the terms and
conditions of the contracts with existing water services, and
WHEREAS, the County Council has determined that PUD #1 is the appropriate
authority and purveyor of water for this area,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of Whatcom County,
Washington, that a public hearing on the matter of declaring said water transmission line
and appurtenances thereto surplus shall be held on the 24th day of April , 1990
at 7:00 p.m., or as soon thereafter as possible, in the Whatcom County Council
Chambers, second floor, Whatcom County Courthouse, Bellingham, Washington, for the
purpose of admitting testimony for and against the surplusing of said property.
