SUMMARY STATEMENT -
ThL reconstruction of Bennett Drive has been in the planning stage by Whatcom County
for several years. This bid award will see the culmination of that project with the
reconstruction of 1.22 miles of the road from Airport Drive to Marine Drive. It is
project numbers 1 and 2 on the 1990 Annual Construction Program and is in the 1990
Road budget. The total com t of the project is $1.8 million, including construction
preliminary engineering and testing and auditing. It is paid for by a combination of
local raid money, Federal and State grant money, and the City of Bellingham for a small
portion that is in the city limits.
RECOMMENDED ACTION.-
Award of bid to the low bidder, Wilder Construction Co. in the amount of $1,517,411.73,
including taxes.

ESTABLISHING COUNTY ROAD PROJECT NO'S. 99158 AND 99174
AND THE AWARD OF THE CONTRACT FOR THE RECONSTRUCTION
OF BENNETT DRIVE M.P. 0.00 TO M.P. 1.23
WHEREAS, this project is a part of the officially adopted 1990 Annual Road
Program in accordance with RCW 36.81.130 as Item Nos. 1 and 2.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Whatcom County Council:
That CRP 99158 and 99174 are formally established for the Reconstruction of
Bennett Drive, M.P. 0.00 to M.P. 1.23.
The contract for this project is awarded to WILDER CONSTRUCTION CO. in
the amount of their bid of $ 1,517,411.73 including taxes.
An appropriation from the officially adopted road fund budget and based on
the County Engineer's estimate is hereby made in the amounts and for the pur-
poses shown:
