SUMMARY STATEMENT.•
County Owned property adjacent to Cedarville Landfill no longer
needed for public purposes should be declared surplus and sold
by County Treasurer at a.public auction. First however, a public
hearing is needed to determine if this property should be
declared surplus.
RECOMMENDED ACTION.-
Recommend passage.for public hearing.

RESOLUTION NO. 90 -12
RESOLUTION IN THE MATTER OF SETTING A DATE
FOR PUBLIC HEARING FOR DECLARING A CERTAIN
PARCEL OF PROPERTY, LOCATED ADJACENT TO THE
CEDARVILLE LANDFILL, OWNED BY WHATCOM COUNTY,
SURPLUS PURSUANT TO RCW 36.34.020.
WHEREAS, the following described property, located
in the County of Whatcom, State of Washington, adjacent to the
Cedarville Landfill, more particularly described as follows:
Beginning at the Southeasterly corner of a
tract of land conveyed to George T. Cowden
and Pearl Cowden, his wife, by Deed dated
March 12, 1951, filed March 13, 1951, as
Auditor's File No. 713984; thence running
Northerly along the East line 600 feet;
thence at right angles to a point on the
West line of same; thence Southerly to the
Northeasterly line of the Chicago,
Milwaukee, St. Paul and Pacific Railroad
Company's right -of -way; thence
Southeasterly on the Northeasterly line of
the Chicago Milwaukee, St. Paul and
Pacific Railroad Company's right -of -way to
point of beginning. EXCEPT: Any portion of
the parcel conveyed to Leonard Cowden by
Whatcom County under A.F. 1412183 LESS
ROAD EASEMENT. Both properties located in
Section 28, Township 39 North, Range 4E.
of W.M.
is now and has been the property of Whatcom County; and
WHEREAS, the Whatcom County. Executive and the
Whatcom County Council have determined that it is necessary to
hold a public hearing to determine if it is in the best
interest of the County and the people thereof to sell said
property;

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of
Whatcom County, Washington, that a public hearing on the matter
of declaring said property surplus shall be held on the 27th
day of March 1990, at _7 p.m. or as soon
thereafter as it is possible, in the Whatcom County Council
Chambers, second floor, Whatcom County Courthouse, Bellingham,
Washington, for the purpose of admitting testimony for and
against the surplusing of said property.

PUBLIC HEARING NOTICE
on March 27, 1990
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Whatcom County Council, on
March 27, 1990, will have a hearing on the following:
INTENT TO DECLARE COUNTY OWNED PROPERTY AS SURPLUS
This parcel of property owned by the County is located
adjacent to the Cedarville Landfill; a public hearing is required
before making this declaration. The legal description is as
follows:
Beginning at the Southeasterly corner of a

during the hearing, located in the 2nd floor Council Chambers,
Courthouse, 311 Grand Avenue, Bellingham. Proposed documents are
available for review during office hours in the 2nd floor Council
Office or the basement Law Library of the Courthouse. A copy of
resolutions or ordinances may be mailed without charge to any
person requesting it.
