Yes No /XZf SUMMARY STATEMENT• This Resolution will make it possible for Whatcom County to transfer a parcel of land to the Vocational - Technical Institute. This parcel of land is necessary for the Institute to complete in expansion program it is planning since the land they have is contiguous with the County,s parcel. When they acquire the County's piece of land,,it will be used for needed parking at the expanded facility. RECOMMENDED ACTION. Executive and Parks department recommend approval of the Resolution. R90 -1 RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE THE INTERGOVERNMENTAL TRANSFER OF A CERTAIN PARCEL OF SURPLUS PROPERTY, A PORTION OF LITTLE SQUALICUM PARK, OWNED BY WHATCOM COUNTY WHEREAS, the County Council has considered the potential uses of the real property described in Exhibit A, and has determined that it is in the best interest of the County to declare the same surplus; and, WHEREAS, the Bellingham Vocational Technical Institute has expressed an interest in acquiring the property through an intergovernmental transfer, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council deems it to be in the best interest of Whatcom County to execute an intergovernmental transfer of property, and directs the County Executive to execute said transfer according to terms and conditions to be set forth in an agreement between the two parties .
