Yes/ f No / X SUMMARY STATEMENT.- On April 9, 1991 the Whatcom County Council determined Caterpillar 816B landfill compactor, set a minimum bid directed that it be sold to the highest bidder-through the offer resulted-in'no bids being received.. Council to lower the minimum bid to $55,000, and to authorize with the public having the opportunity to offer.a more ORIGINATOR'S RECOMMENDED ACTION.• Enact the resolution. COMMITTEE ACTION (including dates): to sell a surplus at $90,000, and sealed bid. However, is now being asked. a negotiated sale, favorable price. Ordinance or Resolution Number. 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 28 29 30 31 32 33 34 35 36 37 38 39 40 41 42 43 44 45 46 47 48 49 50 51 52 53 54 INTRODUCED BY: Consent PROPOSED BY: Purchasing DATE INTRODUCED: 12/17/91 RESOLUTION NO. 91 -098 A RESOLUTION IN THE MATTER OF THE SALE OF WHATCOM COUNTY SURPLUS PROPERTY PURSUANT TO WCC 1.10 WHEREAS, the Whatcom County Council determined on April 9, 1991 that it is in the best interest of Whatcom County to sell a Caterpillar Model 816B landfill compactor which had been used at the Cedarville_ Landfill; and WHEREAS, the Council enacted Resolution No. 91 -020 directing that such property be sold at public sale by award to the highest responsive and responsible bidder, following an advertised call for sealed bids; and WHEREAS, having been duly advertised and circulated to potential buyers, the offer to sell such property resulted in no bids being received; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Whatcom County Council that the County may negotiate the sale of.the property, providing the negotiated price is equal to or higher than the minimum acceptable bid of $55,.000. AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the public shall have notice by advertisement under WCC 1•:10.190, and an opportunity to compete through mailed bids for purchase by offer of a more favorable price.
