SUMIVL4RY STATEMENT•
The 1991 Annual Construction Program has Item No. 11, Specific Site
Improvements. This contract will install guardrail at fourteen sites,
generally around the Lake Whatcom area. This project is our continuing
effort to upgrade existing and install additional guardrail at selected
sites around the County.
ORIGINATOR'S RECOMMENDED ACTION.•
Award of bid to the low bidder, Petersen Brothers, Inc. in the amount
of 5174,342.50, including taxes.

ESTABLISHING COUNTY ROAD PROJECT NO. 99218
AND THE AWARD OF THE CONTRACT FOR GUARDRAIL SITE
IMPROVEMENTS, VARIOUS LOCATIONS
WHEREAS, this project is a part of the officially adopted 1991 Annual Road
program in accordance with RCW 36.81.130 as Item No. 11.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Whatcom County Council:
That CRP 99218 is formally established for Guardrail Site Improvements,
Various Locations.
The contract for this project is awarded to Petersen Bros., Inc. in
the amount of their bid of $174,342.50, including taxes.
An appropriation from the officially adopted road fund budget and based on
the County Engineer's estimate is hereby made in the amounts and for the pur-
poses shown:

Engineering 4,000.00
Right of Way Acquisition
Sub -Total $ 4,000.00
Construction 174,400.00
Construction Engineering
Testing & Contingency 11,600.00
TOTAL $ 190,000.00
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the construction is to be accomplished by
contract in- accordance with RCW 36.77.020 et. seq.
