5 A RESOLUTION SUPPORTING -THE WHATCON PARK AND RECREATION
6 FOUNDATION AND THEIR EFFORTS TO PROMOTE AWARENESS OF PARK
7 AND RECREATIONAL NEEDS, ACCEPT GIFTS AND LAND DONATIONS
S FOR PARK AM RECREATION PURPOSES.
9 WHEREAS, the County is responsible for development, operation
10 and maintenance of certain facilities and programs for the citizens
11 of Whatcom County; and
12 WHEREAS, the Foundation's purposes include the support for
13 development of parks and recreation programs as possible; and
14 WHEREAS, the Foundation can assist and advise the County in
15 the development and operation of such facilities and programs; and
16 WHEREAS, the obligations, aims and purposes of both parties
r are to provide as complete, versatile, and comprehensive a park
18 system and recreational., educational, and social programs; and
19 WHEREAS, cooperation, coordination, and mutual effort of both
20 agencies will lead to maximum utilization of the resources and
21 facilities; and
22 NOW, THEREFORE HE IT RESOLVED, by the Whatcom County Council,
23 Whatcom County, Washington, supports the endeavors of the Park and
24 Recreation Foundation that will benefit the citizens of Whatcom
25 County.
