The Point Roberts Flood Control Zone District must be dissolved as it currently exists if the County
implements a Countywide Flood Control Zone District. The District may subsequently be proposed for
creation as a sub -zone and incorporated as a part of the Countywide program.

RESOLUTION NO. 91-072
A RESOLUTION DISSOLVING
TIIE POINT ROBERTS FLOOD CONTROL ZONE DISTRICT
WHEREAS, in the support of the creation of a countywide flood control zone
district in Whatcom County, the Whatcom County Council received a request to dissolve
the Point Roberts Flood Control Zone District; and,
WHEREAS, after giving proper notice of a public hearing a public hearing was
held on September 24, 1991; and,
WHEREAS, it is in the best interest of the public to dissolve this district in that
its existence is prohibitive to the creation of a countywide flood control zone district;
and,
WHEREAS, the Point Roberts Flood Control Zone District, once dissolved, will
be subsequently proposed for creation as the Point Roberts Sub -Flood Control Zone
District;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Whatcom County Council that
the Point Roberts Flood Control Zone District, as created in a resolution by the Board
of County Commissioners of Whatcom County April 30, 1970, be dissolved.
ADOPTED this 24th day of Sept , 1991.
