R91--o71 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 28 29 30 31 32 33 34 35 36 37 SPONSORED BY: Consent PROPOSED BY: County Executive INTRODUCTION DATE: September 24. 1991 RESOLUTION NO. 91 -071 A RESOLUTION DISSOLVING THE SUMAS AREA FLOOD CONTROL ZONE DISTRICT WHEREAS, in the support of the creation of a countywide flood control zone district in Whatcom County, the Whatcom County Council received a request to dissolve the Sumas Area Flood Control Zone District; and, WHEREAS, after giving proper notice of a public hearing a public hearing was held on September 24, 1991; and, WHEREAS, it is in the best interest of the public to dissolve this district in that its existence is prohibitive to the creation of a countywide flood control zone district; and, WHEREAS, the Sumas Area Flood Control Zone District, once dissolved, will be subsequently proposed for creation as the Sumas Area Sub -Flood Control Zone District; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Whatcom County Council that the Sumas Area Flood Control Zone District, as created in a resolution by the Board of County Commissioners of Whatcom County August 21, 1972, be dissolved.
