SUMMARY STATEMENT.•
As further explained in the attached chronology, a request has been made to accept a
1200 foot section of Illinois Street (west of Home Street) into the County road system.

RESOLUTION NO. 91 -032
A RESOLUTION DECLARING ACCEPTANCE INTO THE COUNTY
ROAD SYSTEM OF WEST ILLINOIS STREET - FROM NOME STREET
WESTERLY APPROXIMATELY 1200 FEET.
WHEREAS, Whatcom County has received a request to accept said
section of roadway into the County road system, and
WHEREAS, the County Council declares said acceptance to be
advantageous to the public, and
WHEREAS, the County Department of Public Works has determined
that the condition of said roadway is satisfactory, and
WHEREAS, the roadway is contained within right -of -way deeded
to the County, and
WHEREAS, per RCW 36.81, the County Council may by resolution
accept said road into the County road system.
NOW, BE IT RESOLVED, that the County Council does hereby
accept into the County road system West Illinois Street, from Nome
Street westerly approximately 1200 feet, as it exists within the
right -of -way limits described in attached Exhibit "A ".

EXHIBIT "A"
The north 60 feet of that portion of the East half of the East half
of Section 23, Township 38 North, Range 2 East of W.M., situate in
Whatcom County, Washington, described as follows:
Beginning at the point of intersection of the Westerly extension
of the Northerly right -of -way line of Illinois Street, as now
located and constructed and the East line of said Section 23;
thence Southerly along said East line of said Section 23 to the
point of intersection of the Westerly extension of the Northerly
right -of -way line of Maryland Street, as now located and
constructed; thence along said Westerly extension of the Northerly
right -of -way line of Maryland Street a distance of 477.5 feet;
thence North 650 55' West a distance of 268.13 feet; thence North
540 59' West to the point of intersection of said Westerly
extension of the Northerly right -of -way line of Illinois Street;
thence Easterly along said Westerly extension to the True Point of
Beginning.
