SUMMARY STATEMENT • In January of 1990 the County entered into a lease for
office space to house staff from the Prosecutor's Office. The motivation for
this move was a demand for space by planning. The original lease was for one
year with four successive renewal terms. This extension provides for a "two
year" lease term. This is to the County's advantage financially. $13.50 /ft.
Phis lease is being introduced upon advice by legal counsel. The charter requires
any lease be included in "the capital budget ". It is Counsel's opinion that
introduction and council adoption of a lease thru a resolution will
accomodate this requirement - as there is no capital budget.
ORIGINATOR'S RECOMMEADEDACTIOM
Introduction and approval for Executive to
enter into the 2 year lease extension agreement by adopting the attached
resolution.
