SUMMARY STATEMENT.•
Ibis resolution is simply intended as a gesture of appreciation for Whatcom County Veterans and their
families. A large picnic area has been reserved at Hovander Homestead Park for this purpose.

2 PROCLAIMING AN "ALL COUNTY, ALL VETERANS' FAMILY DAY"
3 CELEBRATION ON JULY 4 AT HOVANDER HOMESTEAD PARK
4 WHEREAS, the Independence Day celebration is traditionally a time for families
5 to spend time together and remember those who have upheld and defended the values upon
6 which this Nation was founded; and
7 WHEREAS, Whatcom County would like to recognize the service and dedication of
8 the men and women of the Armed Forces, and to provide a location where veterans of all
9 wars and their families can picnic and play games together on the anniversary of our
10 Nation's independence;
11 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Whatcom County Council
2 proclaims July 4, 1991 to be an "All County, All Veterans' Family Day," and that a large
0 picnic area will be reserved for a celebration on July 4 in Hovander Homestead Park.
