SUMMARY STATEMENT:
County wishes to dedicate to City of Nooksack certain County -owned right -of -way abutting
Nooksack City limits' to enable the City to improve street known as East Madison Street,
of which subject right -of -way is a part. Exhibit A, Quit Claim Deed effects the conveyance
of said right -of -way to City of Nooksack.

RESOLUTION NO. 91-004
RESOLUTION IN THE MATTER OF DEDICATING CERTAIN
COUNTY -OWNED RIGHT- OF-WAY FOR PUBLIC USE AS A
STREET TO THE CITY OF NOOKSACK.
WHEREAS, Whatcom County owns and maintains that certain portion of right -of -way running east and west
abutting the north city limits of the City of Nooksack, or more properly described as: All of County Road #461
abutting the current Corporate Limits of the City of Nooksack lying in the Northwest Quarter of the Southeast
Quarter Section 29, Township 40 North, Range 4 East of W.M., and the west half of the Northeast Quarter of the
Southeast Quarter, of said Section 29, Whatcom County, Washington, and
WHEREAS, the City of Nooksack has requested that the County dedicate and convey the above described
right -of -way to the City for the purpose of improving the entire right -of -way commonly known as East Madison
Street, and
WHEREAS, Whatcom County desires to dedicate and convey to the City of Nooksack said right-of -way as
described herein and in Exhibit A attached hereto,
NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved that Whatcom County Council does dedicate certain County -owned right -
of -way to the City of Nooksack for the purpose of improving said right -of -way as a city-owned street and
authorizes the County Executive to approve the quit claim deed to the City of Nooksack in accordance with RCW
36.34.290.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that according to RCW 36.34.290 and Whatcom County Home Rule Charter the County
Council does hereby dedicate and convey to the City of Nooksack certain County -owned right -of -way as described
herein and in attached Exhibit A for use as a public street and said resolution shall be made and entered upon
the records designating the right- of-way so dedicated and shall cause a certified copy of the order to be
recorded in the Auditor's Office.
