YES /_/ NO /_/ (Please explain below) Budget line item number(s): The items listed in Exhibit "A ", attached to the resolutions, are part of the inventory of Nor -Bell Nursing Home, now operated by Mount Baker Care Center. Mount Baker intends to terminate their lease of the facility soon, and move the nursing home operation into their newly constructed building. It would facilitate this move for Mount Baker to be able to purchase these items. It would be advantageous for the county to facilitate the move, in order to complete the process of privatizing the nursing home. ORIGINATOR'S RECOMMENDED ACTION: Hold a public hearing and, if appropriate, resolve to negotiate and advertise the sale according to the terms of WCC 1.10.260. COMMITTEE ACTION TAKEN. COUNCIL ACTION TAKEN: 6/9/92: 6/23/92: Related File Numbers: Introduced Council approved the resolution. 7-0 Ordinance or Resolution Number (this item only): R92 -046 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 28 29 30 31 32 33 34 35 36 37 38 39 40 41 42 43 44 45 46 47 48 49 50 51 52 53 54 55 56 57 58 INTRODUCED BY: Consent PROPOSED BY: Purchasing INTRODUCTION DATE: June 9, 1992 RESOLUTION NO. 92-046 A RESOLUTION IN THE MATTER OF THE DISPOSAL OF WHATCOM COUNTY SURPLUS PROPERTY PURSUANT TO WCC 1.10.260 WHEREAS, a public hearing was held on June 23, , 1992 to discuss the disposal of certain appliances, items of equipment, and furnishings which are currently part of the inventory of the Nor - Bell Nursing Home, consisting of the items listed in Exhibit "A ", hereby incorporated by reference; and WHEREAS„ It was determined to be in the best interest of Whatcom County to dispose of such property; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Whatcom County Council that the county purchasing manager is authorized to enter into negotiations with Mount Baker Care Center for the sale of the property listed in Exhibit "A" for a price not less than ninety percent of the estimated market value; AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that, if a sale is negotiated, the public will be given two weeks notice by advertisement in a legal newspaper, and an opportunity to compete for the items, purchase by mailed bid.
