pie items listed in Exhibit "A ", attached to the resolutions, are part of the inventory of Nor -Bell Nursing Home, now
operated by Mount Baker Care Center. Mount Baker intends to terminate their lease of the facility soon, and move
the nursing home operation into their newly constructed building. It would facilitate this move for Mount Baker to
be able to purchase these items. It would be advantageous for the county to facilitate the move, in order to complete
the process of privatizing the nursing home.
ORIGINATOR'S RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Hold a public hearing and, if appropriate, resolve to negotiate and advertise the sale according to the terms of WCC
1.10.260.

RESOLUTION NO. 92 -040
A RESOLUTION IN THE MATTER OF THE
DISPOSAL OF WHATCOM COUNTY SURPLUS PROPERTY
AND THE SETTING OF A DATE FOR PUBLIC
HEARING THEREON PURSUANT TO WCC 1.10.260
WHEREAS, the items listed in Exhibit "A ", hereby incorporated by
reference, are now and have been the property of. Whatcom County; and
WHEREAS, such property has been part of the inventory of the Nor -
Bell Nursing Home, now operated by the Mount Baker Care Center; and
WHEREAS, the Mount Baker Care Center intends to terminate their
lease of the facility soon, and move the nursing home to their newly
built facility; and
WHEREAS, the Whatcom County Executive Office has determined that it
is in the best interest of the County to sell such property to the
Mount Baker Care Center;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Whatcom County Council that a
public hearing on the matter of the sale of such property be held on
the 23rd day of June , 1992, at 7:00 p.m. or as soon
thereafter as is possible, in the Whatcom County Council Meeting
Room at 1000 North Forest Street, Bellingham, Washington, for the
purpose of admitting testimony for and against the propriety of
negotiating the sale of such equipment; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that.the Clerk of the County Council is
directed to give notice of such hearing in the manner prescribed by
law.
