Yes No SUMMARY STATEMENT.- Dan Fitzgerald, Deputy Director, Whatcom County'Emergency Management, has. requested Purchasi►ig to dispose of a partially equipped packaged field hospital currently -stored.in;:.the Army Reserve Center on-Roeder Avenue, Bellingham.- The equipment was acquired by Emergency Services before it became par.ti.rof County government in January 1990. Fitzgerald has determined that none of-the items remaining in the unit are useful for local agencies ar services. The County i ntend§,)-to dispose of the 'equi;pment by •donating it to the federal Office of- Emergency Preparedness, which has offered to pay all loading and transportation costs. Resolution approved-7 =0 Related File Numbers: Ordinance or Resolution Number. _ R92-009 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 28 29 30 31 32 33 34 35 36 37 38 39 40 41 42 43 44 45 46 47 48 49 50 51 52 i3 54 INTRODUCED BY: Consent PROPOSED BY: Purchasing DATE INTRODUCED: RESOLUTION NO. 92 -009 1 -28 -92 A RESOLUTION IN THE MATTER OF THE DISPOSAL OF WHATCOM COUNTY SURPLUS PROPERTY AND THE SETTING OF A DATE FOR PUBLIC HEARING THEREON PURSUANT TO WCC 1.10 WHEREAS, a partially equipped packaged field hospital, consisting of the items listed in Exhibit "A",Yhereby incorporated by reference, is now and has been the property of Whatcom County; and WHEREAS, the Whatcom County Executive Office has determined that it is in-the best interest of the County to donate such property to the federal Office of Emergency Preparedness for the National Disas.ter Medical S�rstem; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Whatcom County Council that a public hearing on the matter of the sale of such property be held on the 25th day of February , 1992, at 7:00 p.m. or as soon thereafter as is possible, in the Whatcom County Council Meeting Room at 1000 North Forest Street, Bellingham, Washington, for the purpose of admitting testimony for and against the propriety of donating such equipment; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the County Council is directed to give notice of such hearing in the manner_prescribed by law.
