SUMMARY STATEMENT.•
The County Treasurer requests a resolution from the Whatcom County
Council to petition the Superior Court of Whatcom County to finally
cancel and completely extinguish the lien of delinquent personal
property taxes " EXHIBIT A ". The Treasurer or her assigned
deputies have made diligent search and inquiry to collect the tax
assessed, but for reasons stated in " EXHIBIT A " have been unable
to make collection.

5 A RESOLUTION IN THE MATTER OF CANCELLATION OF
6
7 UNCOLLECTIBLE PERSONAL PROPERTY TAXES MORE THAN
8 FOUR YEARS DELINQUENT
9 WHEREAS,the County Treasurer has filed with the County Auditor a
10 list of personal property taxes which the Treasurer is unable for want
11 of goods or chattels whereupon to levy, to collect by distraint or
12 otherwise;which list is accompanied with an affidavit of herself and the
13 Deputy Treasurer entrusted with the collection of said taxes, stating
14 that he had made diligent search and inquiry for goods and chattels
15 wherewith to make such taxes, and was unable to collect same;and
16 WHEREAS, such list and affidavit have been timely delivered to the
17 County Council; and
18 WHEREAS, based upon the Treasurer's Affidavit, the County Council
19 finds that such taxes are beyond hope of collecting, and their
20 cancellation will not impair the obligation of any bond issue nor is
21 cancellation precluded by any other legal impediment that might
22 invalidate such cancellations;
23 NOW, THEREFORE, THE COUNTY COUNCIL approves the Treasurer's request
24 for cancellations of these personal property taxes listed in the
25 affidavit dated January 2,1992 as being more than four (4) years
26 delinquent and beyond hope of collection;
27 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Treasurer is authorized to petition
28 the Superior Court of Whatcom County to finally cancel and completely
29 extinguish the lien of such uncollectible personal property taxes and
30 take all necessary steps under the law to secure and order of the court
31 canceling said uncollectible taxes and extinguishing the lien thereof.
