A RESOLUTION IN THE MATTER OF THE SALE OF WHATCOM
COUNTY SURPLUS PROPERTY PURSUANT TO WCC 1.10
7 WHEREAS, a public hearing was held on January 14 , 1992, to discuss the sale of
8 Whatcom County property; and
9 WHEREAS, it was determined to be in the best interest of Whatcom County to sell the structures
10 located in the City of Bellingham, County of Whatcom, State of Washington, at 2101, 2105, and 2109 New
11 Street, more particularly described as follows:
12 Lot 1, Block 127, "Plat of Sylvan Subdivision," also that portion of Lot 7, Block 198
13 Supplemental Map of Whatcom lying southeasterly of the southeasterly line of the alley in
14 Block 127, "Plat of Sylvan Subdivision," extended in a straight course southwesterly to
15 Halleck Street;
16 Lot 2, Block 127, 'Plat of Sylvan Subdivision," according to the Plat thereof, recorded in
17 Volume 5 of Plats, Page 36, Records of Whatcom County, Washington;
18 Lot 3, Block 127, 'Plat of Sylvan Subdivision," according to the Plat thereof, recorded in
19 Volume 5 of Plats, Page 36 Records of Whatcom County, Washington;
20 for the purpose of a future parking lot.
21 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of Whatcom County, Washington, that
22 such structures shall be sold at public sale by award to the highest responsive and responsible bidder,
23 following an advertised call for sealed bids;
24 AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the minimum acceptable bid shall be $50.00 for 2101
25 New Street, $50.00 for 2105 New Street and $50.00 for 2109 New Street.
26 AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that if no acceptable bid to purchase the structures is
27 received, they shall be made available for One Dollar each to approved not - for -profit agencies;
28 AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that if no agency accepts, the structures they shall be
29 demolished by award to the lowest responsive bidder, following an advertised call for sealed bids.
