COMMITTEE ACTION TAKEN.• COUNCIL ACTION TAKEN: 6/22/93: Council Introduction '3/93: Council approved the resolution. 6 -0 Related File Numbers: Ordb mice or Resolution Number (this item only): R93 -047 1 SPONSORED BY: Consent 2 PROPOSED BY: Treasurer 3 INTRODUCTION DATE: June 22, 1993 4 RESOLUTION NO. 93 -047 5 TO DONATE COUNTY OWNED PROPERTY 6 REQUEST 77 7 WHEREAS, R.C.W. 76.12.030 allows the County to donate real estate belonging to 8 the County where it is found to be in the best interest of Whatcom County to donate the 9 same; and, 10 WHEREAS, parcels numbered 370630- 173085 and 370631 - 076341 are landlocked in 11 the middle of DNR Forest Board Trust land and eventually, when harvested, seventy -five 12 percent of the revenues generated from the timber on these lands will go to Whatcom 13 County; and, 14 WHEREAS, the Whatcom County Property Management Committee has 15 recommended the donation of the subject properties to the Washington State Department 16 of Natural Resources; and, 17 WHEREAS, the Whatcom County Council does deem it in the best interest of the 18 County and the people thereof that parcels numbered 370630 - 173085 and 370631 - 076341 be 19 donated to the Washington State Department of Natural Resources; and, 20 WHEREAS, the assessed value for parcel number 370630 - 173085 is $8,750 and the 21 assessed value of parcel number 370631 - 076341 is $4,375; and, 22 WHEREAS, the Washington State Department of Natural Resources will provide the 23 necessary document(s) for transferring ownership and also will pay for all costs necessary 24 for the transfer of ownership; '5 WHEREAS, the Whatcom County Code as well as the state law allows the County 6 to reserve from the sale, coal, oil, gas, gravel, mineral, ores, fossils, timber or other 27 resources if the Council finds that it is in the best interest to reserve these; and, 28 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that it is in the best interest of the County 29 to donate the subject parcels to the Washington State Department of Resources and further 30 in this donation transferring to the Department of Natural Resources all timber, and 31 reserving from this donation, all coal, oil, gas, gravel, minerals, ores, fossils or other 32 resources on or in said lands and the right to mine for and remove the same in conformity 33 with zoning regulations in force and effect; 34 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Whatcom County Treasurer is hereby 35 directed to donate such properties, said donation shall take place in accordance with the 36 duties as established in R.C.W. 76.12.030. 37 APPROVED this 13th day of July , 1993. 38 39 ATTEST: 40 41 Ramona Reeves, Council Clerk 42 APPROVED AS TO FORM- 3�, 4 Deputy Prosecuting Attorney WHATCOM COUNTY COUNCIL WHATCOM COUNTY, WASHINGTON Margar M.
