The Mount Baker Theatre Center Board is engaged in a capital project to continue the restoration of the historic
-unt Baker Theater. Whatcom County has been asked to support the project with a contribution of $50,000.00

This resolution is submitted in conjunction with Supplemental Budget Ordinance No. 9 which appropriates
$25,000 in the 1993 Convention Center Fund budget for one -half of the County's contribution to the Mount
Baker Theater restoration project. This resolution is a statement of support from the Whatcom County Council
for an appropriation in the 1994 Convention Center Fund budget to fund the remaining $25,000.00 contribution.

2 A RESOLUTION SUPPORTING WHATCOM COUNTY'S CONTRIBUTION
3 TO THE HISTORIC MOUNT BAKER THEATER RESTORATION PROJECT
4 WHEREAS, the Mount Baker Theatre Center Board is engaged in a capital project
5 to continue the restoration of the historic Mount Baker Theater; and,
6 WHEREAS, this project will enhance tourism in Whatcom County; and,
7 WHEREAS, the Whatcom County Council supports the project through a
8 contribution totalling $50,000.00 over a two year period; and,
9 WHEREAS, the Whatcom County Council has approved a supplemental budget
10 ordinance that appropriates one -half of the contribution ($25,000.00) from the Convention
11 Center Fund in its 1993 budget.
�2. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Whatcom County Council that the
13 1994 budget for the Convention Center Fund shall provide for a second $25,000.00
14 contribution to the Mount Baker Theatre Center Board for the historic Mount Baker
15 Theater restoration project.
