This proposed resolution directs the proceeds to the Physical Plant and Captial Facilities Fund with 10% reserved in an account directed by the Treasurer to pay for these costs. R93 -031 INTRODUCED BY EXECUTIVE PROPOSED BY TREASURER DATE May 5, 1993 RESOLUTION NO. 93 -031 A Resolution Regarding the Dedication of County Property Sale Proceeds WHEREAS, The County Property Management Committee recommends that the County dedicate the proceeds from county land sales to capital projects and reserve 10% of the proceeds to make physical inspections of the properties, obtain appraisals and quiet title actions; and WHEREAS, this recommendation will have the effect of providing adequate financing for the timely disposition of property not required for county purposes; and WHEREAS, it is in the County's interest to sell property not required for County purposes, thereby putting the property back on the tax rolls; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Whatcom County Council as follows: The proceeds from sale of county -owned property not required for County purposes shall be deposited in the Physical Plant and Capital Facilities Fund. Ten percent (10 %) of these proceeds shall be reserved and appropriated in an account under the direction of the County Treasurer, to provide for physical inspections, obtain appraisals, quiet title actions and related expenses to ensure timely sale of county -owned property.
