The International Institute of Municipal Clerks, of which the Clerk of the Council is a member,
s—gested that each municipality be requested to proclaim May 2 through May 8 as Municipal Clerks' Week.
ucipal clerks perform a variety of functions, depending on the jurisdictions they serve.
The County Council often shows its appreciation of its staff in many ways. This resolution would
provide formal recognition, and would go a step further to show appreciation to the municipal clerks of
Bellingham, Blaine, Everson, Ferndale, Lynden, Nooksack and Sumas. If passed, copies of this resolution
will be sent to these cities in case their mayors and /or councils would like to make similar gestures of
appreciation to their municipal clerks.
ORIGINATOR'S RECOMMENDED ACTION.•
The Clerk respectfully-asks that the Council pass the resolution.
