Young people age 18 -24 from around the world work with young people from our own community planting trees
and performing stream rehabilitation tasks in an effort to promote peace on a people -to- people, generation -to-
a- aeration level. Contact person is Denise Snyder 676 -8094. The group will work in Whatcom County in
amber 1993 and Ms. Snyder is asking for a formal Council resolution of support.

1 RESOLUTION NO. 93.008
2 TO ENDORSE THE CASCADIA QUEST PROJECT
3 WHEREAS, as the Whatcom County Council recognizes the importance of
4 international relationships to promote world peace;
5 WHEREAS, the Cascadia Quest Project is linking young people around the world
6 through work programs;
7 WHEREAS, local citizens have had the foresight to bring the Cascadia Quest Project
8 to our County;
9 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Whatcom County Council that the
10 Whatcom County Council hereby endorses the Cascadia Quest Project; and
11 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council is appreciative of community
12 efforts to promote world peace and global youth service.
