segregated, when than tract of land has special assessments levied against it, must apply to the County Council.
Council has the power to order the county treasurer to make segregation on the original assessment rolls,
with that segregation to be made as nearly as possible on the same basis as the original assessment was levied.
The total of the segregated parts of the assessment shall equal the assessment before segregation.
This section also states that the county treasurer shall require that the person seeking the segregation pay to
the county reasonable engineering, clerical and related costs incidental to making the segregation (those funds
would be deposited to the LRID account for administration costs). No provision has been made at this time
for collection of such costs.
ORIGINATOR'S RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Evans & Associates, on behalf of Trillium Corp, requests that the Council pass the resolution.

RESOLUTION NO. 93 -005
2 ORDERING THE SEGREGATION OF LOCAL AND ROAD IMPROVEMENT
3 DISTRICT NO. 10, SEGREGATION NO. 92 -2
4 WHEREAS, Ordinance 87 -55 established procedures for the segregation of special
5 assessments in Local Improvement Districts and Road Improvement Districts, establishing
6 a fee and costs for each tract of land for which a segregation is to be made; and
7 WHEREAS, David . Evans & Associates, Inc. has submitted a request for the
8 segregation of Parcels 19 and 20 within L.R.I.D. No. 10 on behalf of the Trillium
9 Corporation, along with a fee totalling $12, to cover the Treasurer's processing fee of $3 for
10 each additional tract for the segregation; and
11 WHEREAS, the original tracts are described in Exhibit A, along with the segregation
12 history, and a map of the areas described; and
3 WHEREAS, the definition of boundaries of the divided parts and the amount of the
A assessment chargeable to each part can be found in Exhibit A;
15 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Whatcom County Council that the
16 request for segregation is deemed appropriate, and that the Treasurer's Office is hereby
17 ordered to make segregation on the original assessment rolls as indicated in Exhibit A.
