6' A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING APPLICATION FOR FUNDING
7 ASSISTANCE FOR A NONHIGHWAY ACTIVITIES PROJECT TO THE
8 WASHINGTON STATE INTERAGENCY COMMITTEE FOR
9 OUTDOOR RECREATION (I.A.C.) AS PROVIDED BY CHAPTER 46.09

12 WHEREAS, under the provisions of the Nonhighway Activities Act, state funding
13 assistance has been authorized and made available to aid in financing the cost of land for
14 Nonhighway Road purposes and the planning of Nonhighway Road facilities; and,
15 WHEREAS, the County Council of Whatcom County considers it in the best public
16 interest to plan for a Nonhighway Road facility in the southern part of the County generally
17 located on Chuckanut Mountain;
18 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the County Council of Whatcom
19 County, Washington,
20 1. That the County Executive be authorized to make formal application to the
21 Interagency Committee for Outdoor Recreation for funding assistance;
22 2. That any fund assistance so received be used for the trail planning of Chuckanut
23 Mountain in the southern part of Whatcom County, Washington;
24 3. That there will not be local share of funds for the planning grant;
25 4. Whatcom County does hereby certify that the County is responsible to support all
26 non -cash commitments to the local share should they not materialize;
27 5. That this resolution become part of a formal application to the Interagency
28 Committee for Outdoor Recreation.
