A Sheriff patrol sedan has been damaged in an accident so that it is beyond cost eTfective repair. If declared surplus,
't is proposed that the vehicle be sold following the procedures in WCC 1.10.260 for specialty or unique personal
droperty. The Purchasing Manager will be authorized to enter into negotiations for sale of the item for a price not
less than 90% of the estimated market value, which has been established at $2,005. The public will be given two
weeks notice by advertisement in the County's legal newspaper, and -an opportunity to compete for-the item's purchase
by mailed bids. The advertisement shall describe the vehicle and state the negotiated sale price. The vehicle shall not
be sold to any County employee or a member of an employee's family.
ORIGINATOR'S RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Hold a public hearing and resolve to sell the property.

9 A RESOLUTION IN THE MATTER OF THE
10 SALE OF WHATCOM COUNTY SURPLUS. PROPERTY
11 AND THE SETTING OF A DATE FOR PUBLIC
'12 HEARING THEREON PURSUANT TO WCC 1.10

14 WHEREAS, a wrecked 1992 Chevrolet Caprice Sheriff patrol sedan is
15 the property of Whatcom County; and

17 WHEREAS, the Whatcom County Purchasing Manager has determined that
18 it is in the best interest of the County to sell such property, and
19 has set its value at an amount in excess of $1,000;

21 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Whatcom County Council that a
22 public hearing on the matter of the sale of such property be held on
23 the 8th day of January , 1994, at 7:00 p.m. or as soon
24 thereafter as-is possible,' in the Whatcom County Council Meeting
25 Room at 1000 North Forest Street, Bellingham, Washington, for the
26 purpose of admitting testimony for and against the propriety of
27 selling such equipment; and .�..

29 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the County Council is
30 directed to give notice of such hearing in the manner prescribed by
31 law.
