1 RESOLUTION NO.95 -072
2 REGARDING SUBMITTING THE LEVY OF THE CONSERVATION FUTURES
3 TAX TO THE VOTERS OF WHATCOM COUNTY AT THE GENERAL
4 ELECTION IN NOVEMBER OF 1996
5 WHEREAS, in 1992 the Whatcom County Council did impose a Conservations
6 Futures Tax upon property to be used for purchasing of conservation lands in Whatcom
7 County; and
8 WHEREAS, the collection of the tax began in 1993 and has commenced for three
9 years; and
10 WHEREAS, since that time some people have made known their feeling that
11 property taxation has reached a level than they no longer support.
12 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Whatcom County Council that the
3 Council hereby submits the levy of the Conservation Futures Tax to the County Auditor for
--14 inclusion on the ballot in the November 1996 general election.
